One my old Intel 82845G 64mb inbeded graphics card, I tweaked Doom 3 to run at Medium settings 800x600 no AA and AF and get a frame rate of 56-63. Dont say I cant tweak. That graphics card would have trouble running any game at low settings, let alone Medium graphics on Doom 3. And the Doom 3 Engine is less tweakable than the Unreal Engine.

I know I did. You can do that with almoast any game. Tell the game to only render objects 50ft infront of you in an MMO will give you a gain of about 20fps in itself. You can also edit the poly counts of objects a little to gain a small boost too. There are hundreds of tweaks, you just got to know how to use them.

I'm talking about having it on HIGHEST SETTINGS and have a great fps, not on low settings.

Actually you said drawing things at a minimum and lessening poly counts, that aint max. And with less than 1 gig of ram and 300 fps, Ill choose not to believe you.

Lower polly counts, but making things look the same is tweaking polly counts to a reasonable count to get a serious performance improvement. NOT lowering the SETTINGS at all. There would still be Great Textures, Physics, and so on. Most of the character models have thoulsands os unneeded pollys, ya just have to delet em'. If anyone is interested though, polly counts wont be a problem. The U3E takes a super low poly model and a high one and combines them to get a great result. The result is the computer running like its loading the low polly but its rendering the high. The stuff I will be editing is like making things draw as I look at it, to where it only renders what you can see, nothing more. This can give anyone a serious performance improvement, about 20-30 frames if your game is running slow. 15-20 is the average gain though.

No joke. A computer with a 128 mb graphics card and a 1.0 GHz Processor and 512 mb of RAM could run the thing on Medium settings.

"this is why "Kiddies" dont belong in MMO's. Noone wants to tolerate your bullshit."
Heh, MY BS aye? If I'm such a kiddie, than why am I the one keeping my cool when you are insulting me over a single comment. One flipn comment, and you guys blow your top. Heh, its quite funny realy. I met some people at a CS:S Valve Forum that cussed me out cuz I said I had a frame rate of 60 fps on my old computer. They were like "you cant get one higher than 20fps!!" Gaming communitys, are places to learn, speak opinions, and give support on games, not to cuss a kid out because you dont know how to achieve a goal that he achieved. Give me a break, if this community is going to be like this, I might as well just leave it be. It is the people like you that make games go from the status of GREAT to thier DOWNFALL. Think of how many games you played that you PAWNED a noob and insulted him for sucking at games, rather than helping him get better. Do you realy think in your right mind that that person is going to want to play that game? HELL NO!! Now think if you helped him, trained him, befriended him... you just saved one noob from humiliation and possibly gained a friend in the process. Why do you think moast people cheat on games? Because the suck and cant beat them without cheats. Trust me, if your as rude in a game as you are in these forums, the problems in the game like: TKing, Cheating, ect. will only get worse. --This post doesnt apply to those who helped answer my question, and didnt insult me over my comment.

Piddly, the rock from which you crawled out under is feeling lonely, crawl back and give it a nice big hug.

I'd rather save my life the headache, and NOT have the chance of having kids, until I get married. I'm 13, not 25, I dont need that crap.

For the PC version (100%) positive that there will be pay to play all MMO's are....
for the xbox and ps3 im not so sure. Eat a good breakfeast in the morning each day so you wont have to buy lunch and find a drawer.....What I would do is when you get the money put it in the drawer that way you have no money to spend if you want to MWAUHAHHAHAHAHAHAH...... den you have enough....save from now till summer and youll be good. |
