Huxley Interview
Quote:
*Big post* These are individual responses to each question: "--" Denotes that I did not use your question as a basis for forming an interview question, and tells why. "++" Denotes I DID use the question as the basis for an interview question, and shows the text of the question. Selected questions can also be found on the very first post of this thread. *Before you continue down to look for your question----* Please don't contest the reasons for denial, you are welcome to resubmit your question after making it suitable for an interview, see the guidelines below. It seems I need to clarify the types of questions I'm looking for for the next 6. Guidelines -At all costs, avoid yes/no questions. They make for very boring interviews. -Instead, use words that force the interviewee to elaborate on your question. I gave links to other interviews, use those questions as a guide as far as tone and form goes. -Specifics, I noted questions about release dates, APC personell capacities, and beta status among others. Specific questions also make for boring interviews, you also run the risk of your interviewee not being at liberty to discuss such things in specific detail. So, here's all the questions so far. Listed in the order they were posted. --------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. With all the items that will be available in Huxley will there be a player market and creation of items? If so how will commerce be implemented in Huxley? How will characters gain the skills to create items? ++Tell us a bit about the player interaction outside of PvP, many community members are curious about the player-created quests and the nature of Huxley's ingame economy 2. Will Huxley support player created quests, and if so how will these quests get to the other players willing to do them? --Yes, second part of question is too specific 3. Many Role Playing Games allow for the player to create a building for their character or guild, will this be available in Huxley? And also with a grouping of player made buildings, could they become a town? ++Can you give us some insight about the guild system in Huxley? 4. We know you cannot get very specific with pricing, however, much of our community is hoping for some light to be shed on any monthly or yearly fees that playing Huxley will require, or if there will be a one time fee, as in Guild Wars? --High chance he will not be able to talk about it 5. Will there be an open beta anytime soon for the US or will it be restricted to Korea? --High chance he will not be able to talk about it 1.will there be monthly updates of weapons --Too specific 2.how will price ranges differ from xp points ingame --?? don't understand question. 3. will there be monthly fees and how much --Too specific and high chance he will not be able to talk about it 4.will there be bounties or hijackings of any kind outside of pvp combat --subject is included in interview question 1 (see first post in thread) 5.will there be 24/7 tech support and working to de-bug and fix glicthes --Too specific 6. when will the game be released --Too specific, even they probably don't know. 7. can the senior members and mods of huxleygme.com have the privilege of getting a beta test? --As cool as it would be, too specific and highly doubtful. 1. Will there be a beta in the United States? --High chance he will not be able to talk about it 2. Is there already a private beta underway? --High chance he will not be able to talk about it 3. Is PvP available anywhere outside the two main cities? --subject is included in interview question 1 (see first post in thread) 4. What will be available for our apartments? --Too specific 5. Are there level restrictions on weapons? --Too specific and question already has an answer (licenses introduce de-facto level restrictions) 1. can you clear up the race issues on the 360? --Might add a couple quick questions at the end to give him the chance to dispell certain rumours 2. can you give us some clearer info about the races and their histories? --See immediately below 1.How deeply have you worked on Huxley's storyline? Is it roleplay worthy? Would you roleplay? ++What does Huxley offer to the gamer who likes to Roleplay? 2. What are the strengths and weaknesses of each race? Would a alteraver always be a better as a enforcer than a syn? Or would each have their own special uses? ++How does race and faction factor into character's initial abilities, do any initial advantages continue to be of use throughout a character's stages of growth? 1. Will you be able to cutomize your weapons and if so in what ways can you customize them? --Too specific 2.Will Alternatives and Sapiens get different types of weapons? --High chance he will not be able to talk about it 3.When will the Xbox 360 version of the game come out? --Like before, even they probably don't know 4. Will you lose your weapons when you die will you be respawned with the weapons you were holding when you die? --Question already has an answer in the Gamespy review 5.Will there be any more vehicles available than what have been shown and will you be able to customize the ones you have? --High chance he will not be able to talk about it 6. How will the voice chat work and will there be keyboard support? --Too Specific 7. How many players will be able to fit in the Armored Personel Carrier? --Way too specific 8. Does Webzen plan to advertise Huxley to build up hype? --Lacks relevancy to gameplay 9.Will there be gore? --Too specific 10.Will their be professions such as making weapons? --Too specific That wraps up the questions so far. Keep em coming. Remember you are welcome to resubmit your question after conforming it to the guidelines listed in the beginning of this post. Last edited by gobbly2100; 14-06-2007 at 12:12 PM. |

Re: Doing our own interview
Well they might have advertisements in the game. Heres and example your walking down a street in the game and youll see a wall with advertisements from companies that will pay webzen to put them there. If Webzen is getting money from other companies they might not need to charge as much.

Re: Doing our own interview
What other ways, besides gather resources, will winning a battle effect all players. How will the battlefield react after a battle is over and a victor is declared? Will the winning team then have defenses there, such as bases or NPC guards? Or will the zone react in a different way leaving the map constantly up for grabs with no special defensive or offensive capabilities for those attacking or defending.

Re: Doing our own interview
Are some or all of the battlefields in Huxley persistent, as in if the faction that wins receives that territory/battlefield until the next battle and gets bonuses associated with having that battlefield?
EDIT: Lol didn't read Grind's post up there |

Re: Doing our own interview
The game makes use of the Unreal 3 engine and the cities are planned to have up to 5000 players. In the past, Unreal games have done well by allowing people with older systems to still enjoy the content - basically you didn't need an ultimate gaming machine just to play the game.
Besides the network technology, what other steps are you taking in order to allow the game to work with varying computer systems? (if someone can word this better, it would be greatly appreciated. I'm having a hard time thinking of the best words to use) |

Re: Doing our own interview
Strategy is often one of the most favored elements of the FPS genre, can you tell us how the developers are crafting Huxley so that the fast paced UT style fragfest does not completely outweigh teamwork and tactics?
(That question is in regard to the "fast UT style gameplay" that many gamers are unsure about.) What is your favorite part of Huxley? (This seems to work good as a last question, from the interviews I've read in the mags.) Also, be sure to invite him or her to join our forums to interact with the community. |

Re: Doing our own interview
Someone may have already asked it and odds are you'll say it's too specific...and it probably needs to be reworded as well, but-
Can you tell us anything about the system that would be used to set-up the large scale 100v100 battles? I mean, for so many players a normal lobby system would take awhile to get full. |
