Re: Coordinating A Server For This Community
This is not like any FPS Decent. You do not pay for a server with a monthly fee, you pay for patches and maintenance. You don't own a server, you choose which server you want to play on. That's what the post meant by coordinating a server.

Re: Coordinating A Server For This Community
The Righteous Arcadians !!!! or just Righteous Arcadians
def. Arcadia - relatively isolated from the rest of the known civilized world, proverbially lived a simple, pastoral life. this defines everything that this forum is right now.. As a community, we are a single mind. and as a clan we are from a single and secluded part of the huxley community. Generally speaking, if you aren't part of the forums then you dont know about us. i like it it rings original in my ears.. tell me what you think |

Re: Coordinating A Server For This Community
I know my faction is Sapian and i might have a name of "Attigeyy" (its my old swg name) or a roleplay name like private Barkly. also we could schedule battles or getting togher in a town or making stratgeys pr making plans to trade stuff or putting stuff up for sale. This Game will be GREAT

Re: Coordinating A Server For This Community
From now on please no "(insert faction here) is better" or "(faction) sucks". Its stupid and does nothing and has no supporting evidence for said claim.

Re: Coordinating A Server For This Community
Sounds like a great idea, I actually just started a thread before I saw this so that the people on the forums could post what username they wanted to use in Huxley so we would know people from the forums, so that solves the problem of knowing who is from the forums, provided everyone posts. : )
The post I made to solve the problem Fauqs presented is called What username will YOU claim. It is the answer to his problem so if you think this server coordination is a good idea as I do, post your selected username there! Last edited by zeekgenateer; 21-05-2007 at 10:39 PM. Reason: Double Post |

Re: Coordinating A Server For This Community
This does not solve the problem at all, people can and will sign up before you on Huxley and will get your name first. Come up with an original name and that won't happen.

Re: Coordinating A Server For This Community
I'm interested to know whether or not people will be able to play on both sides in the same server. The reason for this is having big forum battles where you can actually shoot the others. If you can be on both sides, loyalties to one won't be as heavy, especially since you know the people you're fighting against and can choose to swap sides the next week to fight with them.
The more well known, organized and friendly fighting between groups of people will only make the game more enjoyable. When you foster hate and dislike between the factions, that doesn't make it enjoyable when you take it to the forums. Having the same group be on both sides gives you more control over organized pitched battles that end up as more fun than grindfest with pubs running amok. They're also less focused on beating the other person than having fun and winning. (I know that sounds contradictory) I think it would be great to set up teams based on usernames every couple weeks, swap them between the factions, give them a week to build up the character and finallly let them duke it out and see what happens. Set up the next fight for a couple weeks in the future, randomize the teams again and repeat.
