Coordinating A Server For This Community
I was thinking, when huxley launches what if the people of this up-and-coming forum community were all to agree one or perhaps two servers?
say for example those from these forums who are going to choose alternative go to server X, and those who are choosing sapiens go to server Y etc. That'd be kind've cool - at least then we'd have people we know already right from the getgo directly after purchasing the game. or you guys think this'd be a bad idea and would ultimately cause these two servers to get overpopulated too quickly (considering we're all most likely to bring other friends into Huxley with us and this forum community will be bigger by then)? |

Re: Coordinating a server for this community...
I'd say it's a good idea, and I want to be a mutant (alternative) :P Having friends from the start would be a good idea IMO Makes the game more interesting from the start!

I want to be an alternative too (specifically Alternix Enforcer) so I guess that means we'd end up on the same server if the community decided on this, Mikkado =) tempted to ask Globby to sticky an official "community server" thread naming the server that he chooses for the community to go for each of the two factions heheh.
- Sephie edit: I just realized.... this wouldn't work anyway if the servers are not international. I'm in America for example, if they make US server for US version only then looks like this might not work =( Hey guys, good news! Globby liked the idea and decided to sticky this post incase the servers are international as a reminder for when the game comes out to give this idea a try. So looks like this idea can work and if the servers are not international we could always pick specific servers for each country I suppose. - Sephie Last edited by CarnaGe; 11-06-2007 at 06:35 PM. Re: Coordinating A Server For This Community
There's another small issue with a simple solution.
Some people on these forums probably won't have the same name they have here as they would in the game. So, if you want other forum members to know your in-game name you can post it here (after the game comes out, so you know for sure it's the right name). Of course you don't have to. Just something to consider. |

or... instead of a thread we could put an entire section of this forum that list everyones character names in alphabitical order of thier forum names, by using a field in thier forum profiles where they fill in thier character name and pick server name from a drop-down menu, and whatever servers we pick as a main server(s) for this community it will be highlighted in gold when they see it in the drop-down menu. - Sephie |

Hmm, i'm in EU, and I think we will have US and EU servers to reduce lagg. Bummer, but not a huge problem. But still, the idea is manageable. My ingame nick is going to be Mikado

Re: Coordinating A Server For This Community
Maybe they should have mostly separate servers for EU and and US but some servers dedicated for US and EU gameplay. That might be kinda cool.

Re: Coordinating A Server For This Community
We'd have to think of something better than that... but something to show we formed from these forum, but yet something that sounds like it'd fit in with the huxley universe... here's a few names I thought of
Agents of the Forum The Forum Sentinels Forum Constructs Bounties for the Forum The existance of forums does fit into the game universe because you figure with them being in the future and all they'd have to have a data network of some sort - from a Roleplay point of view (assuming anyone roleplays anymore). Heheh I tend to be a bit of both: a Roleplayer and a PvPer. feel free to offer any other name suggestions though. - Sephie |

Forum's Hand
The Forum's jeesh (Ender's game reference if you don't know it look it up) Forum's Guild (really crappy I know) Hero's of the Forum The Forum's Legion The Forum's Strength (or Might) The Forum Watch They might not be imaginative but I have to go xD. I'll try to think of more while I'm bored at school.

Re: Coordinating A Server For This Community
We also should (if we're going to carry out this) decide how to run said clan or set up a forum (for only clan matters). Also I'm in the US unless there is a EU vs US server we're out of luck so if your intrested in this clan idea we probably should (after the name) see how many people want to join.
